Today's Season of Joy reflection on John 14:15-21 is by Most Reverend Jeffrey S. Grob. Bishop Grob was reared on a dairy farm just outside Cross Plains, WI and ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1992 and an auxiliary bishop in 2020. Over the years, he has been blessed by God to serve in various positions from associate pastor and pastor to Chancellor and Judicial Vicar.
Jesus said to his disciples:
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always,
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept,
because it neither sees nor knows him.
But you know him, because he remains with you,
and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. ...
